Brian Kinney, Samuel Mason Obituary, Death – Police have released the names of two individuals who were fatally shot during a robbery attempt in Round Rock over the weekend. The Round Rock Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on Saturday, July 12, around 1 p.m. at the Bellwood Apartments, located at 1401 South A.W. Grimes Boulevard.
According to investigators, the shooting took place during a robbery that occurred after two groups met up to conduct a firearm sale. What began as a transaction quickly escalated into violence, with gunfire breaking out during the exchange.
A total of four individuals were shot during the incident. Two victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while the other two were pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased have been identified as 17-year-old Brian Kinney of Austin and 18-year-old Samuel Mason of Pflugerville.
As of now, the medical condition of the two hospitalized individuals has not been released.
The case remains under active investigation, and detectives are working to determine the exact circumstances and the roles each person played in the deadly encounter. Authorities are reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and attempting to piece together how the attempted firearm transaction turned fatal.
