According to an initial investigation by KSP Post 4, the crash happened at approximately 9:15 a.m. EST. The incident involved a northbound Audi sedan driven by 42-year-old Brian Tichenor of Bardstown. As he approached a curve on Springfield Road, Tichenor was unable to maintain control of his vehicle. His car veered across the center line and collided head-on with a semi-truck traveling south.
The impact of the collision was severe, and first responders arrived to find that Tichenor had suffered fatal injuries. The Nelson County Coroner’s Office officially pronounced him deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver, 37-year-old Jared Pennick of Columbia, was unharmed in the crash.
