The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 6:33 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 296 and Reidville Road.
The pedestrian, identified as 33-year-old Cameron Shane Giles, was attempting to cross southbound on Highway 296 when he was struck by an SUV heading east. Tragically, Giles did not survive the impact. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the SUV was unharmed in the incident.
