The investigation began in January when deputies responded to a call from a concerned family member regarding an elderly woman in distress. Officers arrived at a home on Bagwell Road in Liberty and discovered 86-year-old Carolyn Wemett lying unconscious on the floor.
Emergency medical personnel transported Wemett to a hospital, but unfortunately, she died shortly after arrival.
