Charles Colgin Obituary, Death – A 72-year-old man from Hanover County, Charles Colgin, died following a single-vehicle crash in Henrico County on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Police believe the incident was caused by a medical emergency.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Henrico County Police responded to a call about a crash near Mechanicsville Turnpike and Neale Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Toyota Camry in a ditch on the eastbound side of Mechanicsville Turnpike, close to Chickahominy Bluffs. Colgin, the driver, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Colgin’s car had been stationary in the far-right eastbound lane of Mechanicsville Turnpike before the crash. He reportedly experienced a sudden medical emergency, which led him to accelerate abruptly, veer off the road, and collide with an embankment and several trees.
