Christian Jordan Woods, Rona Paul McGirt Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the two men shot and killed in Anderson County, South Carolina, following a Wednesday morning shooting that also left another man injured.
Incident Details
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office responded to a shooting along Quinn Street at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men dead at the scene and one man injured.
Victims Identified
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore identified the victims as:
- Christian Jordan Woods, 22, of Anderson
- Rona Paul McGirt, 59, of Anderson
The third shooting victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover fully.
Suspect Arrested
Authorities arrested Darren Demetrius Martin, a registered sex offender, in connection with the shooting. He faces charges including:
- Two counts of murder
- One count of attempted murder
- Possession of a weapon during a violent crime
Martin is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.
Martin’s Criminal History
According to court records, Martin was previously charged with murder in 2020 after the death of Jesse Banks III, but the case was later dismissed.
