Cody Zimmerman Obituary, Death – The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash earlier this month on the southeast side of Colorado Springs. The victim was 29-year-old Cody Zimmerman, who died in an accident on November 3 in the 1900 block of South Monterey Road, near the intersections of South Circle Drive and the Hancock Expressway.

Officers were called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. in response to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car. When authorities arrived, Zimmerman was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CSPD’s investigation, both the motorcycle and the car were traveling southbound on Monterey Road when the collision occurred. The crash happened as the car attempted to make a U-turn to head north, and the motorcycle struck the side of the vehicle. Investigators determined that the speed of the motorcycle was a contributing factor in the accident.

This tragic incident marks the 47th fatal crash in Colorado Springs in 2024. For comparison, at the same point in 2023, the city had recorded 45 traffic fatalities. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
