Conner Russell Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the teenager who lost his life in a suspected DUI crash over the weekend in Tooele. The victim, 16-year-old Conner Russell, was a student at Riverton High School, according to a spokesperson from the Jordan School District.
The district announced that crisis counselors will be available to support students when they return from spring break. Russell’s death has deeply impacted the school and the broader community, with many remembering him as a bright, fun, and loving young man with a promising future.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist Conner’s mother with funeral expenses and other unexpected costs. According to the fundraiser, all donations will go directly to the family. Local mortuary services have scheduled Conner’s funeral for next week.
Russell was also honored by Riverton Youth Football, an organization where he previously played. In a statement, the group highlighted his spirit, dedication, and lasting impact on the community.
The crash occurred on March 30, with Utah Highway Patrol reporting that both Russell and the driver, 18-year-old Jaxon Douglas-David Wood, were ejected from the vehicle. Conner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wood has since been arrested and faces a second-degree felony charge of automobile homicide, along with multiple misdemeanor charges. Court records indicate that he is being held without bail.
