Preliminary findings indicate that a 24-year-old man, identified as Dalton Miller of West Lafayette, Ohio, was driving southbound in a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis when his vehicle crossed the center line. His car then collided with a northbound 2012 Toyota Highlander traveling in the opposite direction.

Officials confirmed that Miller was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 21-year-old passenger in his vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released details about her condition.

The impact of the collision caused the second vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a guardrail. The driver of that vehicle, a 33-year-old woman from New Philadelphia, was also taken to a hospital for medical care. Her condition has not been publicly disclosed.
