Da’Mar McKinney, Juvenile Identified in Warren Shooting; Two Arrested.

Authorities have identified the juvenile who died in a shooting in Warren last week. According to the Warren Police Department, the victim is Da’Mar McKinney of Youngstown. Police reported that the shooting occurred Wednesday night at an apartment complex on Mahoning Avenue NW.

Officers responding to the scene found McKinney in the parking lot with a gunshot injury. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Two individuals, 18-year-old Ashaud Duane Lee Johnson and 18-year-old Willis Leroy Smith IV, were arrested in connection with the incident. Both have been charged with murder. At their arraignments on Friday, each pleaded not guilty and remain held without bond.

Police reports also noted that several vehicles in the area were damaged by gunfire, including a pickup truck and three cars.

The Warren Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
