Daniel Hernández Alvarado Obituary, Death – A Pleasanton teenager, Daniel Hernández Alvarado, 17, has been identified as the driver who tragically lost his life in a high-speed crash on Del Valle Road on Saturday. The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau confirmed his identity on Monday. Alvarado, a student at Foothill High School, was remembered by his family and friends as a kind-hearted and bright individual. His sudden death has left those close to him grieving, with an online fundraiser launched to assist with funeral expenses and related costs.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded to a crash involving a BMW 535i that struck a tree at high speeds on Del Valle Road. The vehicle was traveling northbound when it crossed into the southbound lanes before crashing into a tree along the right shoulder, south of Mendenhall Road and near the entrance booth for Del Valle Regional Reservoir. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Alvarado was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that the vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed, but the reasons for the crash, beyond the high speed, remain unclear.

A GoFundMe campaign, created the day after the incident, described Alvarado as a young man with a contagious smile and a compassionate nature, who had the potential to achieve great things. The campaign has raised funds to help his family with funeral expenses and to provide support during this incredibly difficult time. In a heartfelt message, the campaign emphasized the financial burden that comes with such a sudden loss and urged the community to come together to help the family.

In the meantime, CHP continues to investigate the crash and is calling for witnesses who may have additional information. The department has encouraged anyone with details about the incident to contact their office at 925-828-0466 or email Officer Tyler Hahn at thahn@chp.ca.gov.

As his family and friends grapple with the loss, they have expressed their sorrow and deep appreciation for the support they’ve received from the community. The fundraiser’s message highlighted the need for collective support to ease the financial burden of funeral and related expenses, allowing the family to focus on healing while honoring the life of the beloved teenager.
