Danny Scott Obituary, Death – A fatal crash occurred in Burke County on Sunday, December 8, 2024, involving a dump truck and a Chrysler 300, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The accident took place on U.S. 64 at Fisher Davis Road.
Troopers reported that the crash happened when the 64-year-old driver of the Chrysler 300, identified as Danny Scott, attempted to turn left from Fisher Davis Road onto U.S. 64. However, as he made the turn, he did so in front of a 1975 dump truck traveling westbound on U.S. 64, causing a collision between the two vehicles.
Scott was pronounced dead at the scene the accident. A passenger in the Chrysler, whose identity has not been released, was taken to UNC Health Blue Ridge with serious injuries. The dump truck driver, also not identified, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The authorities do not believe that speed or impairment contributed to the crash. The investigation suggests that no charges will be filed in connection with the incident. The collision remains under investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
