The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on Friday, March 14, near the intersection of US Highway 12 and State Highway 188. According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Burnette was riding a motorcycle westbound on US Highway 12 when he collided with a trailer being hauled by a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.
Emergency responders arrived to find Burnette unresponsive. Despite wearing a helmet, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 36-year-old woman who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to a local hospital with injuries but was expected to recover.
