The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 23-year-old Diedra Evon Preston was killed in the crash. She was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved.

Emergency responders from Center Point Fire and Rescue and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving reports of a serious wreck involving multiple vehicles.
The collision took place in the northbound lane of Pinson Valley Parkway, specifically in the 2900 block, according to Battalion Chief Chris Horn.
Emergency Response
Preston was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:12 p.m., according to Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates. Two children were rushed to Children’s of Alabama, while two adults were also transported to a hospital for treatment.
