Diego Blayze Salinas Obituary, Death – A 21-year-old man, Diego Blayze Salinas, lost his life in a three-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 10, near the Speedway Boulevard exit in Arizona, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The fatal accident happened around 7 a.m. while Salinas was riding his motorcycle in the westbound lanes of I-10. Authorities said Salinas struck the rear end of a commercial vehicle in front of him. The impact caused him to be ejected from his motorcycle.
Immediately following the initial collision, a third vehicle that had been traveling behind Salinas struck both his motorcycle and possibly Salinas himself, according to DPS officials. The exact circumstances of the chain-reaction crash are still under investigation.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the crash, but Salinas was pronounced dead at the site due to the severe injuries he sustained.
Officials have not yet released additional details regarding the drivers of the other two vehicles or whether any citations or charges are expected. It is also unclear what may have led Salinas to collide with the commercial vehicle in front of him. Investigators are working to determine all contributing factors, including speed, traffic conditions, and whether Salinas was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the incident and is urging any witnesses who may have seen the crash to come forward with information.
Salinas’ death marks another tragedy involving motorcycle riders on Arizona highways, highlighting the continued risks faced by motorcyclists in multi-vehicle traffic situations.
