Diego Zamora, South Los Angeles Man Dies After Wall Collapse.

Authorities have identified the man who died after being trapped by a collapsed wall in South Los Angeles as 52-year-old Diego Zamora, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Firefighters were called shortly after 1:35 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 7400 block of South Hoover Street, in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood. Officials reported that Zamora was found beneath a block wall that had collapsed in the rear of the property.

Despite immediate efforts by the Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and paramedics, Zamora was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire department spokesperson Margaret Stewart confirmed that medical teams were unable to save him.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the wall to collapse. The incident remains under investigation as officials work to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
