Police say the victim was able to identify the attacker before being transported to the hospital. He named Shawn Bradwell Smith as the person responsible for the assault. Smith reportedly left the scene before officers arrived, but witnesses and police observed that he had blood on him when he walked away.

Emergency services responded quickly, and the victim was taken to Southeast Georgia Health System for medical care. Officials later confirmed that the victim is in stable condition.
