Dustin W. Butler Obituary, Death – A 28-year-old man from Weogufka, Coosa County, has tragically passed away following a crash near Sylacauga. The incident occurred on January 25, on U.S. National Forest Road 601D, roughly four miles from Sylacauga’s city limits in Clay County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division, Dustin W. Butler was a passenger in an SUV when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Authorities noted that Butler was not wearing a seatbelt, which led to him being ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

He was initially taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center before being airlifted to UAB Hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, Butler succumbed to his injuries on January 26. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities emphasizing the importance of seatbelt use in preventing such tragedies.
