Dwayne Jackson Obituary, Death – A man from New Orleans lost his life in a late-night accident in Prairieville. Law enforcement officials responded to a collision involving two vehicles on I-10 westbound, near the LA 928 overpass in Ascension Parish, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Dwayne Jackson.
Initial investigations indicate that Jackson was operating a truck traveling westbound on I-10 when a freightliner tractor-trailer attempted to merge onto the roadway from the right shoulder, resulting in Jackson’s truck colliding with the rear of the freightliner.
Jackson succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The Louisiana State Police have stated that standard toxicology tests will be conducted for further analysis.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
