Authorities in Cincinnati are investigating a late-night shooting that resulted in the decease of a local man in the Madisonville neighborhood.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, officers responded around 11:20 p.m. Friday to reports of gunfire in the 6000 block of Madison Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man who had been injured.
Police later identified the victim as 38-year-old Dwayne Kelly. Emergency responders quickly began providing life-saving assistance before transporting him to UC Medical Center for further treatment.
Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, authorities say Kelly later died at the hospital.
Investigators have launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, police have not announced any arrests or confirmed whether a suspect has been taken into custody.
