LEWISTOWN, Pa. — The Mifflin County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died in a house fire that broke out earlier this week in Lewistown, officials report.
The fire occurred about 1:15 p.m. on Friday, January 23, on the 200 block of East Third Street. Multiple fire crews responded to the scene, where heavy flames and smoke were reported.
The coroner has identified the victim as 50‑year‑old Elizabeth Ann Sieber. She was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters brought the blaze under control.
The fire was large enough to be classified as a four‑alarm response, and several nearby homes and a church sustained damage.
Investigators from fire and law enforcement agencies continue to review the circumstances and work to determine what caused the fire. No additional information about the investigation has been released at this time.
