Elvin Thomas Dixon Obituary, Death – The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal train collision that occurred in West Ashley on Saturday, November 16. Elvin Thomas Dixon, a 73-year-old Charleston resident, was struck and killed by a train around 5:25 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 61 and Bees Ferry Road.
According to officials, the incident took place when Dixon, the pedestrian, was attempting to cross the railroad tracks and was hit by an oncoming train. The Charleston Police Department is handling the investigation into the incident.
