Gail Anne Moore Obituary, Death – A tragic crash on U.S. 42 near Route 603 in Ashland County claimed the life of 77-year-old Gail Anne Moore of Ashland on Thursday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).
Authorities report that the incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. when a 2022 Peterbilt semi-truck with a flatbed trailer was exiting a private drive and turning northeast onto U.S. 42. During the turn, the trailer extended into the southwest lane. A 2003 Honda CR-V, driven by Moore, collided with the left rear of the trailer.
Sadly, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 60-year-old man from Noblesville, Indiana, was unharmed in the collision.
According to the OSHP, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and there is no evidence that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The crash remains under investigation, with charges pending a review by the Ashland Municipal Court.
Following the crash, U.S. 42 was closed for approximately three hours while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.
