Gary Liles, Jackie Jurado Obituary, Death – A devastating head-on collision in Imperial, Texas, claimed the lives of four people on Wednesday, including three siblings, authorities reported. The accident involved a GMC Sierra truck and a Jeep on Farm to Market Road 1053.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated that the Jeep, occupied by the siblings, caught fire after the crash, and all three family members died at the scene. The driver of the GMC Sierra, 48-year-old Gary Liles of Brownfield, was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
While DPS has not officially released the names of the siblings, a GoFundMe page shared by the Ector County Sheriff’s Office identified them as Jaden and Jackie Jurado, 18-year-old twins, and their 16-year-old sister, Nautica. The three were students at Buena Vista Independent School District and the children of Lt. Heather Perkins, a longtime patrol officer with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, where she has served for 23 years.
Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis revealed that Lt. Perkins was among the first responders to arrive at the scene of the accident. The tragic loss has deeply affected the local community, and the GoFundMe campaign has been organized to support the family during this difficult time.
The Texas DPS is continuing its investigation into the crash to determine its cause.
