Gary Sinsabaugh, Carlos M. Lorenzo Obituary, Death – The identities of the victims involved in a deadly two-vehicle crash in Barton on December 20 have been released by police. According to the New York State Police, the crash occurred just before 1:30 p.m. on state Route 34 in the Town of Barton, when a Toyota Highlander and a Chevrolet Silverado collided head-on.

Investigators determined that the Toyota Highlander, which was carrying four people, was traveling north when it crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck the Silverado, a pickup truck. The driver of the Silverado, 68-year-old Gary Sinsabaugh of Athens, was the only occupant in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Highlander, 42-year-old Janesa Lorenzo from the Bronx, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in critical condition. The front-seat passenger, 56-year-old Delroy A. Christie, also from the Bronx, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Sadly, the two passengers in the back of the Highlander did not survive the crash. Carlos M. Lorenzo, 41, also from the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the scene, while 38-year-old Sabrina M. Surita from Manahawkin, New Jersey, was taken to Robert Packer Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The New York State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. They have not yet released additional details regarding the cause of the accident.
