George Delgado, Leticia Alvarado Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the two individuals killed in a high-speed, wrong-way crash that took place Monday evening in Santa Ana. Both victims were the drivers of the vehicles involved in the initial head-on collision, and police believe one of them was responsible for causing the deadly crash.

The accident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on Main Street near Warner Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing a BMW sedan traveling at high speed in the wrong direction — heading north in the southbound lanes. The BMW crashed head-on into a black Honda, which was then pushed into a white Toyota SUV due to the force of the impact.

The drivers of the BMW and the Honda, who sustained fatal injuries in the crash, were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 29-year-old George Delgado, who was driving the BMW, and 32-year-old Leticia Alvarado, who was driving the Honda.

The impact of the crash also injured five people who were inside the Toyota SUV. Among the injured was a 1-year-old child. All five occupants were transported to the hospital for treatment, but their injuries were not reported as life-threatening.

Santa Ana Police Department officials are continuing their investigation into the crash. Officer Natalie Garcia noted that Delgado, the driver of the BMW, had been speeding for some time prior to the collision. Authorities believe his actions were not accidental. Although Delgado died in the crash, police are still considering him a suspect in the case. Investigators are working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

“We don’t quite think that it was by accident,” said Officer Garcia. “He’s a suspect in this investigation. He’s passed away now, but factors such as alcohol or drugs remain under investigation.”

The tragic crash has left the community in shock and mourning, especially for the family of Leticia Alvarado, who was an innocent driver caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Traffic investigators continue to analyze evidence from the scene and are reviewing witness statements and any potential surveillance footage to gain a clearer understanding of what led to the fatal wrong-way driving.

Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
