Gregory DeRisso Obituary, Death – A 29-year-old man who was among the two people killed in a suspected gang-related shooting in Los Angeles has been identified by local authorities. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the victim as Gregory DeRisso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, located near 14th Place and Paloma Street, just after 1 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning. A female victim, identified as a 52-year-old woman, was also shot during the attack. She managed to transport herself to a hospital but later died from her injuries.

In addition to the two fatalities, four other individuals sustained gunshot wounds. A 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were both transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, authorities said. Meanwhile, three men—aged 62, 28, and 26—as well as a 28-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police noted that these four individuals were in stable condition upon arrival at the hospital.

Early reports suggest that the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation at a warehouse party in the area. According to a FOX11 news report, an argument may have escalated into gunfire. ABC7 provided additional context, stating that the warehouse gathering could have been an unofficial after-party following the final performance of the two-day HARD Summer music festival held at Hollywood Park.

At this point, law enforcement has not released any information regarding the identity or number of suspects involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to determine the motive behind the violence, as well as whether it is indeed tied to gang activity, as initially suspected.

Authorities are also trying to piece together how the events unfolded during the gathering and whether the victims were targeted or caught in the crossfire. So far, no arrests have been made, and police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The tragic shooting adds to growing concerns about gun violence in Los Angeles, particularly in situations involving large, unsanctioned parties. Events such as these often lack proper security and can quickly turn dangerous, especially when alcohol and personal disputes are involved.

The names of the other victims have not been released pending notification of their families. Police continue to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage in hopes of identifying those responsible. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the LAPD or submit anonymous tips to local crime reporting services.
