Hannah Lebert Obituary, Death News – A 24-year-old woman, identified as Hannah Lebert from Lemont, lost her life in a crash with a semi-truck early Tuesday morning in Mundelein, Lake County officials reported. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 1:05 a.m. on the northbound lanes of IL Route 45, south of University Drive.

According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Lebert died from blunt force injuries she sustained in the collision. Mundelein police responded to the scene to find Lebert, severely injured, inside her heavily damaged Acura sedan. Emergency responders had to extricate her from the wreckage before transporting her to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 44-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Preliminary statements from the semi driver indicated that the Acura, traveling southbound on IL Route 45, lost control, crossed the center median, and collided head-on with the semi-truck.

Initial investigations suggested that speed may have contributed to the Acura’s loss of control and crossing over the median. There was no immediate evidence of impairment on the part of the semi driver, and toxicology results for both drivers were still pending at the time of the report.

The northbound lanes of IL Route 45 were closed for several hours due to the extensive damage both vehicles sustained in the crash. The Mundelein Police Department, the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
