MERIDIAN, Idaho — Authorities have released the name of the man who was killed in a shooting that took place Sunday afternoon, January 25, near a McDonald’s restaurant on East Central Avenue, police and the Ada County Coroner’s Office say.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 27‑year‑old Israel Castrejon Trejo of Nampa. He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in the incident, which occurred at approximately 12:39 p.m. near 195 E. Central Ave. in Meridian.
Meridian Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area and later detained a suspect. A 23‑year‑old man, identified as Jacob Streat of Nampa, has been charged with second‑degree murder in connection with the shooting and is being held on $2 million bond. Police have said the event appears to have been isolated and there is no known ongoing threat to the public.
