Dieffenbacher of Batesville.
According to the agency’s preliminary findings, the incident took place on the afternoon of December 5 at the intersection of Highway 270 and Highway 104 in White Hall. State troopers reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m., during what appeared to be routine traffic conditions. Investigators say Dieffenbacher had been traveling west in a 2012 Chrysler 200 when the collision happened.
The early investigation suggests that Dieffenbacher did not stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection. As her vehicle entered the crossing, it collided with the driver’s side of a 2021 Toyota 4Runner that was also moving westbound, operated by 21-year-old Madelyn Evans of White Hall. The impact resulted in significant damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders were called to the scene immediately. Despite their efforts, Dieffenbacher did not survive the crash. Evans, the driver of the second vehicle, sustained injuries and was taken to a medical facility for treatment.
