James. J. Mitchell Obituary, Death – A 49-year-old man from Alabaster lost his life in a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday, July 13. Alabama State Troopers have identified the victim as James J. Mitchell.

According to officials, the crash happened when Mitchell’s pickup truck veered off the roadway while traveling along Alabama Highway 25, near Shelby County Road 7. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a cable utility box and then crashed into a tree.

Authorities reported that Mitchell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. As a result, he was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Emergency personnel transported him to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the wreck. No additional details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway have been released.

Mitchell’s death marks another tragic reminder of the importance of seatbelt use and road safety. The investigation remains ongoing.
