Janice Stein Obituary, Death – A 74-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a Publix parking lot in Manalapan on Tuesday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place just before 8 a.m. at the Publix located at 262 S Ocean Blvd.
The victim, identified as Janice Stein, had just gotten out of her vehicle and was walking across the parking lot when the accident occurred. A 41-year-old man, driving a 2020 Isuzu NRR truck, was moving southbound in the lot when he struck Stein as she crossed from west to east. According to the report, Stein walked into the truck’s path, leading to the collision.
The truck’s right front side hit Stein on her left side, knocking her to the ground, and the vehicle traveled over her before coming to a stop after the driver slowed down. Despite immediate attempts to respond, Stein was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.
The driver, who remained at the scene, has not been charged, and authorities have not filed any charges at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
