Jason Briscoe Obituary, Death News – A man from Greencastle, Indiana, has been confirmed to have died from drowning after being found hanging over a raft on Rainbow Lake in Perry County. Authorities identified the victim as Jason Briscoe.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., deputies received a 911 call alerting them to a possible medical emergency involving a man on a raft at Rainbow Lake. The caller explained that Briscoe appeared to be in distress and was seen hanging over the raft with his head submerged in the water.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and found Briscoe unresponsive. Medics attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. Briscoe was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County Coroner.
Following the incident, an autopsy was performed on Sunday. According to the preliminary findings, Briscoe’s cause of death was determined to be drowning.
Although the autopsy points to accidental drowning, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Briscoe’s death is still ongoing.
