Jason Keith Payne Obituary, Death – The Georgia State Patrol has confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a car accident over the weekend. On Saturday, at approximately 6:48 p.m., GSP received a call regarding an incident in the vicinity of State Route 51 near Garrison Road in Banks County.
Upon the arrival of troopers, it was determined that Jason Keith Payne, 56, from Carnesville, was operating a 2000 Nissan Altima. Authorities reported that while Payne was heading eastbound, a tree located on the southern side of State Route 51 collapsed onto the roadway, striking the top of the vehicle. Unfortunately, Payne was declared deceased at the scene.
As per GEMA, the 56-year-old is thought to have perished as a result of a line of storms that passed through metro Atlanta on Saturday, which brought with it destructive winds and heavy rainfall.
Governor Brian Kemp expressed his sympathies in a message posted on X.
