Jennifer M. Sylvia Obituary, Death – atal car crash in Tiverton on Thursday night claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman after her vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and burst into flames, local authorities reported.
The accident occurred around 9:53 p.m. near 840 Lake Road. Upon arrival, emergency responders from the Tiverton Police and Fire Departments found a 2014 grey Subaru Impreza fully engulfed in flames with the driver trapped inside. Despite the dangerous conditions, firefighters managed to extract the woman from the burning car. She was quickly transported by Tiverton Rescue to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities later identified the victim as Jennifer M. Sylvia, a resident of Tiverton. Investigators suspect that excessive speed played a role in the crash, though the exact cause is still under review.
Following the incident, Lake Road was shut down in both directions for approximately three hours as officials worked to clear the wreckage and conduct their investigation. The response involved multiple emergency units, including the Tiverton Police and Fire Departments, as well as support from the Little Compton Fire Department.
The case remains under investigation by the Tiverton Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team.
