The Jeep was being driven by a 31-year-old woman, also from Wapakoneta. Following the impact, both vehicles veered off the south side of US-33 and came to a stop. Emergency responders were called to the scene, and both drivers were transported to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Sadly, Rains was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to officials, she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.
