At the same time, a 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan, driven by a 74-year-old man from Smyrna, was traveling east on Rose Bowl Road. The driver had stopped at a posted stop sign at the intersection with North Dupont Highway. Police say that after stopping, the Toyota Sienna began to cross the southbound lanes of the highway.
As the vehicle attempted to cross, it entered directly into the path of Cuffee’s oncoming motorcycle. The impact was severe and caused Cuffee to be ejected from his bike. Emergency personnel quickly responded to the scene, and Cuffee was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
