Jose Rosales Munoz Obituary, Death – A deadly head-on crash north of Middlebury on Wednesday morning left one driver dead and another injured. The incident occurred around 4:25 a.m. on S.R. 13, just south of C.R. 2, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities report that a 2015 GMC Sierra, traveling southbound on S.R. 13, crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided head-on with a 2012 Mazda Q5. The driver of the Mazda, 43-year-old Jose Rosales Munoz from Elkhart, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the GMC Sierra, 20-year-old Kenneth Miller from Centreville, Michigan, suffered chest pain and was transported to Goshen Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, as authorities continue to gather details about the collision.
