Joseph Desrocher Obituary, Death – A man from Maine died following a car crash in York last week, according to local authorities. The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Joseph Desrocher of Old Orchard Beach, as confirmed by York police and reported by News Center Maine.
The incident occurred on Thursday, June 19, around 12:p.m., when multiple 911 calls were made about a serious accident near 296 Route 1, close to the Morehouse Housing complex in York.
Emergency crews responded promptly to the scene and discovered that the driver, later identified as Desrocher, was trapped inside the vehicle after it had collided with a tree. Rescue teams used specialized mechanical tools to extricate him from the wreckage.
Desrocher was rushed to Portsmouth Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he died the following day, on Friday, June 20, from injuries sustained in the crash.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in gathering more information.
