According to Chris Horn of the Center Point Fire District, emergency responders received a call just before 3 p.m. reporting a house fire in the 400 block of Heritage Place.

Firefighters’ Search Efforts

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters battled the smoldering flames while searching the home for anyone trapped inside. After 15 minutes, they discovered Roper’s body inside the burned structure.
