Kelly D. Haymond Obituary, Death – The 28-year-old woman killed in a head-on collision on South Middlebush Road in Somerset County early on Saturday has been identified as Kelly D. Haymond, a resident of North Plainfield. The identification was confirmed by Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

The fatal crash occurred around 2:49 a.m. on February 1, when police were notified of a serious accident involving two vehicles on the northbound side of South Middlebush Road, near Jacques Lane. Responding officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel arrived to find that the crash involved a 2020 orange Dodge Charger and a 2008 black Volvo tractor-trailer.

Kelly Haymond was driving the Dodge Charger alone when the collision occurred. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle, was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, along with the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau, are conducting the inquiry.
