Kyle Welch Obituary, Death – The individual who lost his life when the electric scooter he was operating collided with a pickup truck on May 31 in Shasta County has been identified as Kyle Welch, 34, from Cottonwood, according to the coroner’s report released on Wednesday.

Welch was traveling south on Park Drive in Cottonwood when his electric scooter struck a Ford F-250 truck that was heading west on Gas Point Road, as stated by the California Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported at approximately 10 p.m. on that Saturday, May 31.

Following the collision, the driver of the truck moved to the north shoulder of Gas Point Road and exited the vehicle. It was at this point that he discovered Welch beneath his truck, as reported by the CHP. The truck driver subsequently dialed 911. However, when paramedics arrived on the scene, they were unable to revive Welch, according to the CHP.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
