Leroy Manogiamanu Obituary, Death – Anchorage police have released the identity of a man who was fatally shot in a downtown incident early Sunday morning. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Leroy Manogiamanu.
The shooting took place in an area that houses the Gaslight bar, several businesses, and is near the Anchorage Police Department’s main headquarters. In addition to the fatality, several other people sustained injuries during the incident.
Police said they received reports of gunfire shortly before 3 a.m. on the 700 block of West Fourth Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Manogiamanu dead. They also located another victim with critical, life-threatening injuries, and a third person with less severe wounds. Later, a fourth individual was found with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
