The victim, identified as Leslie M. Richardson, was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry when the crash happened. Authorities say the vehicle veered off Hale County Road 51 and struck a tree. The impact was severe, and Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash took place at approximately 6:15 a.m., near Starling Road, which is located about 15 miles north of Greensboro. According to troopers, Richardson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the fatal outcome.
