Lewann M. Shrewsberry Obituary, Death – A woman was killed in a tragic crash on Interstate 77 South in West Virginia on December 3, according to the West Virginia State Police (WVSP). The accident occurred when the woman, identified as 48-year-old Lewann M. Shrewsberry from Camp Creek, was traveling south on I-77. As she approached mile marker 42, she collided with a West Virginia Parkways Authority Courtesy Patrol Vehicle that was stationary in the left lane. The patrol vehicle was there to block traffic after another crash earlier in the area.
The impact of the collision caused Shrewsberry’s vehicle to veer across the highway, where it was subsequently struck by a commercial truck traveling southbound. Tragically, Shrewsberry was found dead in her vehicle.
At the time of the accident, the WV Parkways Authority vehicle had its emergency lights and arrow board activated, which is standard procedure when assisting with crash scenes and directing traffic. Despite these warnings, the crash still occurred.
The WVSP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
