Lloyd Carroll Byrd Obituary, Death Cause – An elderly man who died following a collision earlier this year has been officially identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. The man, Lloyd Carroll Byrd, aged 87 and a resident of Taft, was involved in a two-vehicle crash on January 31.

According to authorities, the crash took place at the intersection of Taft Highway and Buena Vista Road at approximately 12:29 p.m. Details surrounding the circumstances of the collision have not been fully disclosed, but officials confirmed that Byrd’s vehicle collided with another car at the intersection.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Byrd to Kern Medical for treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that same day at the hospital.

After further examination, the coroner’s office concluded that Byrd’s cause of death resulted from injuries sustained in the crash. The manner of death has been officially classified as accidental.
