Authorities have identified a woman who died following a shooting Saturday evening in Jacksonville. According to Coroner Marcy Patterson, 31-year-old Marcquila Harris of Jacksonville passed away at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital later that day. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Police reported that officers were dispatched at approximately 5:42 p.m. to the 800 block of West Chambers Street after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived, they located Harris with a serious gunshot injury, according to an initial police report. She was transported to Jacksonville Memorial Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries, authorities said.
