Matthew Ertel Obituary, Death – A motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic crash on Saturday in Springfield Township. Authorities have identified the victim as 38-year-old Matthew Ertel.
According to the police crash report, Ertel was traveling north on Daly Road when he lost control of his motorcycle near Meredith Drive. The bike skidded along the guardrail before striking a utility pole, resulting in a severe impact. The force of the crash ejected Ertel from his motorcycle, sending him directly into the pole.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Ertel to UC Medical Center for treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash report also noted that Ertel was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
