Michael Cady Obituary, Death – A double shooting near the Oak Grove Fire Department on Monday left one man dead and another recovering in the hospital, according to authorities. The incident, which occurred around 5 p.m., prompted an investigation by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).

The deceased victim has been identified as Michael Cady. The shooting reportedly took place in the backyard of a residence, where two men became involved in a disagreement that escalated into a gunfight. Although the specific cause of the disagreement is still under investigation, authorities confirmed that both individuals knew each other.

The first responding deputies were alerted to the scene following an initial call around 5 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned that one of the men, wounded by gunfire, had been dropped off at the nearby Oak Grove Fire Department by a car. A woman, whose son was a Boy Scout working on a project at the fire department at the time, provided immediate aid to the victim before deputies could arrive. The other man involved in the shooting was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

The OSBI, in conjunction with local law enforcement, is continuing the investigation into the shooting. At present, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed as authorities continue to gather details about the dispute that led to the violent altercation.

This tragic event marks a further escalation in gun violence in the area, but authorities are cautious about drawing conclusions until they have all the facts. The investigation remains ongoing.
