Authorities identified the actor as 41-year-old Michael Dieker, who was also known by friends and colleagues as Louise ImMasche.
According to information from the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the crash involved two vehicles and took place late Friday night, roughly 90 minutes after the final curtain call for Theatre Lawrence’s production of The Rocky Horror Show, in which ImMasche was performing.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 10:40 p.m. on October 24, following reports of a collision along the South Lawrence Trafficway (Kansas Highway 10/US-40), near the area between West 27th Street and Iowa Street. The crash caused a section of the roadway to be temporarily closed while emergency crews worked to assist those involved and clear the scene.
The Kansas Highway Patrol later released a report providing further details about the incident. Investigators said that Eliseo Munoz, 21, of Lawrence, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound on U.S. 40 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with ImMasche’s car. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and emergency responders were called immediately. Despite life-saving efforts, ImMasche did not survive the crash.
